Devout Believers Unite

The text, I assume, was placed on the screen.

"He was an obvious con man." - Jacob Weisberg

Jacob Weisberg, editor of Slate-dot-com has issues with Mitt Romney. Rather, issues with what Romney believes. Or perhaps that he believes it 'too much'.

In the Paula Zahn interview, the transcript of which can be found on CNN.com, Weisberg demeans people who are devout in their faith.  Surprise.

Of Mormon founder, Joseph Smith, Weisberg states:

"He was an obvious con man. Romney has every right to believe in con men, but I want to know if he does. And, if so, I don't want him running the country."

Hmm let's see...

Global Warming

Fahrenheit 9-11

The Rose Law Firm

Fortress Investment

Yep gotta watch those con men. Also noted, the anti-religious attempt at consistency:

"If he believed literally in the theology and the tenets of Mormonism, the same way I would feel about an Orthodox Jew who believed that the Bible was literally true, or a fundamentalist Christian who believed that the Earth was 6,000 years old, and didn't believe in evolution for -- for that reason."

As one of the lefties said earlier today, "What an interesting effort to approximate an English sentence." An Editor.  How dare we support someone judgemental, someone with convictions.  How positively squishy.

I'm really tiring of these "Ok, so theres a man in the sky.." people. The fact that Romney, or any Mormon, or any religious person has faith in their faith (as Beck put it) is no different than the faith that Slate-dot-com has in Global warming:

"The electricity we generate is responsible for 38 percent of carbon dioxide emissions in the United States, making it the largest single source overall. As demand for electricity has risen, so have greenhouse-gas emissions, increasing by 25 percent over the last two decades, ...".  Stop in & take the New & Improved Green Challenge.  Just make sure you've discredited the infidel scientists who don't agree with you first.  Yeah Right.

Sounds like a con to me. Make sure you park your prius facing east, and remember, buy 5 carbon offsets a day, and take your daily smart pill.  Dust off that autographed 8x10 of Swammy Algore.  Suckers.
